Why Dragon

The real maths

True cost of cheap vents

Adjust the numbers for your jobs. When non-conforming imports fail, you pay for the callback and the replacement — often an Australian-made vent anyway.

≈ 3 of 10 imported vents need a callback in this scenario.

Plus the things you can't price: your reputation, the warranty claim you didn't have, and a home that's actually bushfire-safe.

The part no one talks about

No mesh? The flies get in — and end up in your food

A non-conforming louvre or open wall vent has nothing to stop insects. Flies and pests are drawn to the warmth, light and cooking grease, crawl in through the gaps, then die above your rangehood filter. The next time you cook, the heat rises into a layer of decomposing carcasses — and it falls straight back down into the food below. It isn't just unsightly; it's a serious food-hygiene risk to your family, caused entirely by a vent that was never built to standard.

Same wall, two vents. The old louvre (left) has open slats and no insect mesh. The DVA Hi-Flow vent (right) seals pests out, moves more air — and looks the part.

What we find behind mesh-less vents: flies packed above the filter, decomposing insects, and ducts choked with webs — directly above where you cook.

Drawn straight in

Warmth

light and cooking grease pull flies and insects right to the vent opening.

2

Nothing stops them

Open louvres or no insect mesh mean there's no barrier — pests crawl into the duct.

and drop into the food you're cooking below.

The Dragon fix: 1.99mm perforations are built into every wall and eaves vent — fine enough to stop flies, embers and pests, open enough to stay Hi-Flow. No rusting bird mesh, no clogging, no carcasses above your filter.
